(re)discover self[care] through meditation, poetry + movement
the self care series.
A self care journey through way of meditation and poetry practice. We will dive deeper into examining BIPOC poets, explore how poetry can break through pain and the freedom that exists on the other side of fear when you allow yourself to be seen.
welcome to my sanctuary
Throughout Black History Month, I was thinking a lot about who I am and how my Blackness + gender identification has moulded so many of my experiences- specifically with mental health. Poetry has been a solace for me; my sanctuary. I read, I dissect, I re-read. I get quiet. I get clear. I cry. I write. I meditate. I move my body. I understand a little bit more about myself. I heal a little more wholly. Then I repeat. That's how I came up with this idea + offering. This is a celebration of my Blackness, my womanhood and my journey to taking control of my mental health. It is something I hope to share with others in hope to make the world a little brighter.
Sanctuary Series has been adapted into corporate workshops, educational workshops, team-building workshops and private couples workshops. Please do not hesitate to reach out to learn more.
